Nantucket Lightship/LV-112 salutes
'Old Ironsides' in Boston Harbor;

see Tall Ships in the harbor!

WHAT: We still have room for you and your friends/family, so plan to join us on board the Nantucket Lightship/LV-112 to celebrate the July 4th turnaround cruise of the USS Constitution, "Old Ironsides." The Nantucket Lightship/LV-112, berthed in Boston Harbor, has one of the best waterfront views of this famous annual event. This also is your first chance to see LV-112's newly restored hull, weather-deck and superstructure. Adding to this spectacular day, the Tall Ships event is now underway (click for details), and the City Water Taxi is offering a special roundtrip rate from Long Wharf to our lightship (see below). Space on LV-112 can be reserved with a $25 donation; see details below.

WHEN: Wednesday, July 4, 10am to 2pm.

WHO'S INVITED: Everyone who wants to see these two National Historic Landmark vessels on the same historic day.

WHAT TO BRING: Picnic lunch, your favorite beverages, beach/lawn chairs to sit on the decks of LV-112, which will remain at the dock. We'll supply the ship and panoramic views.

WHY: We want to show you our restoration progress. Plus this is a fundraising event for LV-112, for which we still have much work to do; visit our Facebook page. The ship's restoration currently is solely dependent on the generous contributions of corporations, private foundations, special-interest groups and individuals such as you.

RESERVATIONS: For this event, we request a $25 donation per person. Please make your check payable to USLM Nantucket Lightship/LV-112; mail to U.S. Lightship Museum, P.O. Box 454, Amesbury, MA 01913; or bring it with you on July 4. Reservations also can be made electronically via credit card by clicking here (press Donate button). For more information, contact us via email or call 617.797.0135.

WHERE: LV-112 is berthed at the Boston Harbor Shipyard & Marina, 256 Marginal St., East Boston, MA; directions. Free parking at the marina. City Water Taxi: offering a $10 special roundtrip rate from Long Wharf (Columbus Park), stop #15, to LV-112 at Boston Harbor Shipyard & Marina, stop #68view map of water taxiMBTA Subway: take Blue Line to Maverick Station, walk to marina (approx. 15 minutes); view walking route
